With 30 years of writing and editing experience, typically for upmarket and intellectual publications, and a scholarly background (I have a PhD in art history from the Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London), I am especially familiar with formally constructed English, and draconian about the need to ensure that the reader can clearly follow the development of the writer’s ideas. No indigestible gobbledegook or officialese survives my attentions, and jargon and over-wordiness, or flights of incoherent fantasy, will similarly be tamed, rendered into clear and lucid English (unless you specifically wish them to be incoherent, of course).
