Radian are an award-winning organisation, employing over 800 staff and providing nearly 21,000 affordable homes in Southern England. These include general housing, sheltered and supported housing, key-worker accommodation, shared ownership, market-rent and private-sale properties.

The problem

The audience for the Radian Annual Review is very diverse. With a turnover in excess of £137m and an industry that is under close scrutiny from both national and local government, they need to appeal to their investors, householders, staff and regulators in equal degrees.

The answer

For the first time they wanted to put together a report that appealed to all their residents and stakeholders in an easily accessible format. There would also be a web-based as well as a print version. Editing Edge were brought in to write the report and bring coherence to contributions from multiple stakeholders, staff and volunteers.  We wanted to make it engaging and interesting for residents but it was also very important to demonstrate value.

The result

The Editing Edge copywriting team were able to manage the tight deadlines and cope with the information arriving bit by bit and often at the last minute. The resulting new style of report was a resounding success. In the words of the Annual Review itself:
