The Client

Passing from one generation to the other, from the late Queen to the King, it is fabulous to see the continued recognition and popularity of the King’s Award for Enterprise (KAE).

This year, 252 businesses have been recognised for their contribution in four categories: Innovation, International Trade, Sustainable Development and Promoting Opportunity (through Social Mobility).

Through my work at Awards Intelligence, I was delighted to see the success of my client M2M Pharmaceuticals – who received the KAE International Trade award – and it was a huge pleasure to celebrate with Editing Edge client Hi-Level Mezzanines, who received the Innovation award.

The Problem

Entering a business into the King’s Award for Enterprise is a complex process. There are many steps to consider before even tackling the stringent application form which will showcase your business and dazzle the judging panel. Financials are crucial, and if your business cannot prove dynamic growth, it will not make the cut.

Additionally, competition is extremely tough as the KAE is the world’s most prestigious business award. Achieving a KAE award can put your company in a peak position with the Royal stamp of approval behind your name.

The Solution

M2M Pharmaceuticals needed to work with an awards specialist to help them submit winning award entries. We took time to understand their story inside out and pull out the key angles that make them stand out from other entrants.

For Hi-Level Mezzanines, we ramped up our fortnightly blog-writing mission to create a press release sharing the news of their impressive win with the wider world.

It was a delight to see such worthy candidates enjoy such success for their impressive achievements. We were thrilled to help them on the challenging road to receiving recognition and the ultimate Royal seal of approval from the King himself.

The Result

A well-structured and powerful entry for M2M Pharmaceuticals which showcased the company at its very best, carefully compiled with honed messages that met the strict word counts for each section within the application.

To achieve this:

  • We made sure the client’s financials passed muster.
  • We visited M2M’s labs in Reading and spent quality time with the team to craft powerful messages.
  • We identified their innovative export strategies and how they outperform their rivals.
  • We built in case studies, testimonials, graphics and photographs.
  • We prepared a compelling first draft that we tweaked in collaboration with M2M to get the application absolutely spot on.

Our press release for Hi-Level Mezzanines illustrated the company’s forward-thinking ethos, highlighted the challenges that come with applying for the KAE and hailed the impressive result of winning this prestigious award. It was picked up by local and trade press, perfectly meeting the brief.
