Look no further than your staff.  Staff profiles on your website About Us page are a great way to differentiate your company from the competition and engage with your customers.

All too often an About Us page can be dry and awkward.  It can be difficult to strike the right balance between selling yourself to your customers and driving them away by being too self-absorbed.

But don’t neglect it.  Analytics often shows the About Us page as one of the most frequented on any website (especially for service-based companies where it is all about the who not the product). It’s important to maximise the value of your About Us page by giving it the attention it deserves.

The simplest way to do this is by investing in showcasing the talents and personality of your staff by creating staff profiles that bring your team alive.

A well-written staff profile is also a great way to engage and motivate staff, as they will enjoy talking about their talents and interests as you tease out lots of fascinating facts.

And don’t forget some good quality photos to complete the story. They don’t need to be headshots of each employee – photos of your team in action at a fundraising event or a work night out (only the tame ones, of course) can all add character to your brand. But if you do go for individual shots, avoid holiday snaps in favour of a more business-like image.
